Warming up

1.       Greetings.

2.       Free Talk.

3.       Ss make sentences with if-clause.

Arouse the Ss’ interesting of learning and revise the knowledge learned.

Pre-task

1. T: We are going to have a class party. Will you help me to organize it?

 Ss: Sure. When will we have the party?

  T: What’s your opinion?

  Ss: What about today?

  T: No, today is too early,. If we have it today, half the class won’t come.

  Ss: What about tomorrow?

  T: We’ll have a test tomorrow. Ss will leave early to study for their tests.  Let’s have it on the weekend. Okey?

  Ss. OK. We can have it on Saturday afternoon.

  T: What will we do on the party?

  Ss: We can play games, sing songs, dance and so on….

2. Get the Ss to talk about the party.

Get the Ss to learn to listen and speak .

 

While-task

1. Ss do 2a on page 35. Play the tape. Ss listen and number the sentences.

2. Correct the answers.

3. Play the tape again. Ss do 2b.

4. Check the answers.

This activity encourage the Ss to listen for key words .

 

 

 

Post-task

1. 1c. Pairwork. Ss work in pairs. Ss make the conversation by themselves.

2. Ask one or two pairs of students to practice their conversations for the class.

3. Grammar focus

   Revise the if-clause.

   Ss make sentences like this:

      I think I’m going to…

      If you do…

   Encourage the Ss to make more sentences.

4. Get the Ss to learn the different tenses in if-clause.

This activity gives Ss a chance to use prompts to role play the conversation.

Homework

1.       Revise the if-clause.

2.       Ss make sentences with if.

3.       Do Ex34.

1.       Strengthen the knowledge.

2.       Enable the students to revise the usages.
