1. 不定式、动名词、从句作主语时，在意义上通常是单数，谓语动词用单数。

* What he wants are two books.
2. 表示金钱、时间、距离、重量的复数名词作主语时，在意义上是单数，谓语动词用单数。
  Six years is a long time.
  Ten dollars is enough for him.
  Three thousand miles is a long distance.
