Careful reading to solve difficult points
1. undertake  vt. 着手；从事；承担
The scientist undertakes the experiment.
科学家从事这项实验。
I can undertake the responsibility for the changes.
我愿意承担这些变革的责任。
undertake是及物动词, 主要有两个意项: 着手做, 从事, 进行; 担任, 承担, 同意。
2. cast
①由cast构成的常见短语有：
be cast down  沮丧，灰心
e.g. She could not bear to see him so cast down. 她不忍见他如此沮丧。
be cast away
